Update from the USC Presidential Search Committee – October 2025

Dear Trojan Family,

Thank you for your continued interest and support as the Presidential Search Committee carries forward its important work. We continue to draw from the insightful input you provided during the listening phase of our search, highlighting the many unique and special characteristics of the Trojan Family and identifying the critical attributes we should seek in our next president.

As shared previously, the committee is using the presidential search brochure to help prospective candidates understand the exceptional opportunity to lead the University of Southern California. With the support of our executive search firm Russell Reynolds Associates, we have carefully reviewed more than 500 candidate recommendations submitted by members of our community, alongside many other names identified through national outreach and research.

The strengths of USC’s mission, reputation, and Trojan Family continue to attract impressive interest. The committee is now in a quiet phase of the process, focused on candidate assessments. While we are limited in what we can share during this period, please know that the work is actively and thoughtfully progressing.
